Welcome to FaCIT!
Welcome to the web
resource and information guide for the
Faculty Center for Innovative Teaching.
Central Michigan University has long
emphasized quality educational opportunities
for our students as a primary aspect
of a CMU experience. Currently, the first
sentence of the CMU mission statement
is, "Central Michigan
University serves Michigan and the larger
community as a doctoral/research-intensive
public university focused on excellent
teaching and student-focused learning." In
addition, the first listed core value
at Central Michigan University is, " Student-focused
learning, placing the strongest value
on learning and teaching." Finally,
at the conclusion of the strategic planning
process to develop CMU 2010, the first
priorty emerged as “ 1. Create an
environment that supports teaching and
learning as the top priority.” There
is no doubt student learning is a defining
feature of CMU.
The Faculty Center for Innovative
Teaching is fully devoted to assisting
faculty in providing the exceptional learning
opportunities for students they expect
upon enrolling in a CMU course. In this
center, we pride ourselves on the quality
assistance we provide in a variety of areas.
Within FaCIT are instructional developers
