Welcome

Teaching and learning online is an opportunity to expand our academic horizons.  This website is a hub of resources for faculty interested in learning more about online teaching and how various technologies are being used to promote teaching and learning.  The content includes answers to frequently asked questions, online tutorials, articles, points of contact, and the schedule for a series of events where faculty can learn how to enhance their teaching anywhere on the continuum from face to face to fully online.

The series, Expanding Our Horizons, is sponsored by the Council of Deans in order to disseminate information and promote consideration of these new teaching and learning formats.

This series will engage faculty with each other, and the creative team developing the series (Center for Instructional Design, CMU libraries, and Faculty Center for Innovative Teaching). Through the series, the Council of Deans and other sponsors intend to create a dynamic and informed community of faculty and staff who are prepared to understand and address – as appropriate – the opportunities for online and other innovative instructional formats.
